It feels to me like discord wants to make their ui look more like other social medias popular today like Snapchat, kinda sad because I think discord uniqueness is what gives it a much better environment than other social media

P.S. the reason YouTube really removed dislikes is because most of the videos with large dislike counts were ads and other videos by large companies

And the fact that discord said “get used to it” shows how they don’t care about us and what we think they’re so selfish changing the layout without thinking what the community wants i hope that they’re happy losing money 💀

So many problems….

• The feature to see how many members are online and what they’re doing on a server just ISN’T A THING ANYMORE.
• this new “swipe to reply” thing makes the app feel real janky
• No toggle button between old and new UI
• Switching from DM’s to servers is now longer to do, which is a shame since as the whole point of this update from Discord’s perspective was to make things FASTER.
• The icons at the bottom of the screen are fat, chunky, and don’t fit with the aesthetics of the rest of the layout.
• The blue circles annoy me, I can tell that there’s activities on other server with the white notch on the left hand side ALREADY.

I haven’t cancelled my nitro yet, but I might as well considering how bad this is for EVERYONE. Casual users, and server owners who would like to keep track on activity in their server like me, but more importantly, those like some in this comment section, who have motor skills or other general disabilities have been given a big middle finger from Discord to make the app feel far less simple, and more confiluted in that respect.

For those people who know about what happened with D&D beyond, I hope that’s what happens with this. People totally bombed the website and cancelled subscriptions and such, so they lost so much money in such a quick amount of time where they had no choice but to cancel their plans. I hope discord loses enough money to go back so people can actually use the app without issues. I think the dark mode is fine.. IF YOU WANTED IT? It’s too dark. I hate the reply feature, it takes more taps to get to servers/dms, I can’t swipe back into a conversation I have to reselect it. I for some reason keep having discord switch me to the old layout and then like an hour later it switches back to the new? That has happened like 4 times now, I don’t know why but I love when I get to have the old layout back for a minute. I’m on iPhone so I can’t download an old version which SUCKS. Also the reply sign looks like a road sign and it’s ugly 😊


ANOTHER THING!! They say they don’t want the app to feel like a downsized version of the computer app.. But that was the cool thing! They looked the same so when you were on one, you didn’t have to relearn the app like other apps… I just miss the old layout and now I’m mostly on computer 🥹 I can’t afford to switch messaging apps because I do like some of the features discord has kept, it’s one of if not the most popular, plus I have messages and memories I can’t just erase with my friends…

The only thing good about the UI system is the midnight thing. If you genuinely prefer it over the old UI system, I think you might have a brain tumor

YouTube just updated their mobile ui too and it’s absolute dicks also. They moved the user page and merged it with playlists and now it’s so bad

My issue is that i have very shaky hands and motor skill issues, its so hard to use with them
This UI is hard for those with motor skill issues and other disabilities

I remember seeing one of my friends have that ui, and i didn't update dc yet, so i did and tried it out, and yeah, things are just harder to use, i prefer dms being above the servers

One thing I despise is the new darkness check. They added midnight. There was 0 need to make it darker

Yeah mobile discord is even bugged now, they don't load images anymore, no matter what you do.
