The vintage Carl Zeiss 28mm f2.8 lens is a very interesting piece of gear, especially mounted to a modern digital mirrorless camera like the Sony A7 II full frame camera.
Check out the video to see sample images of how this modern camera and vintage lens performed, and my thoughts after using them.
If you have any experience with this lens or any other favorite vintage lenses let me know about it in the comments.

I have the Yashica version of this lens and I love it. I have a Contax Zeiss 35 and 50. I primarily shoot vintage class. I’m currently building 2 sets, a FD set and a Contax Zeiss set. I have two Minolta Rokkor lenses also.

Have you shot any Yashica lenses? I’d be curious to see if the Contax is a better lens. I only paid $55 for my Yashica.

Do you have a particular brand of lens adapter that you'd recommend? I also use a Sony a7ii and might be interested in trying a vintage Zeiss or two. Thanks!

In the vintage lens world, the Contax zeiss are pretty much the best there is except maybe the Leica Rs.

I found a trio of vintage soviet medium format lenses for $70usd near my home. A 150mm f2.8, a 85mm f2.8 and a 60mm f3.5. They are pentacon six mount. The brand is (maybe) Kiev or something, the letters are cyrillic, so I can't read them. The 150mm have a dent and aperture doesn't work properly, but the glass is perfect. Are they worth the 70usd? I would need to buy an adapter too
