The Greek (not Roman) "Thing" was the Acropolis. One of the most intact ancient Greek ruins, though it had been rebuilt repeatedly. And those hexagonal land barriers likely represented the Giant's Causeway. A volcanic basalt formation. Both well worth diving down a Wikipedia rabbit hole for.
