An Ohio doctor who received a flood of threats over a pro-vaccine social media post is standing by her message. In a playful Tik Tok video, Dr. Nicole Baldwin showed the benefits of vaccines, and said they do not cause autism. But that prompted a barrage of hateful responses. Despite scientific evidence that there’s no link between vaccines and autism, a recent poll found 46% of parents are still unsure. Dr. Jon LaPook joins “CBS This Morning” to discuss how doctors can counter misinformation about vaccines.

Each weekday morning, "CBS This Morning" co-hosts Gayle King, Anthony Mason and Tony Dokoupil deliver two hours of original reporting, breaking news and top-level newsmaker interviews in an engaging and informative format that challenges the norm in network morning news programs. The broadcast has earned a prestigious Peabody Award, a Polk Award, four News & Documentary Emmys, three Daytime Emmys and the 2017 Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast. The broadcast was also honored with an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Award as part of CBS News division-wide coverage of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. Vaccinated children actually have a higher chance of autism since they live long enough to get autism

Thanks Doctors, Nurses, scientists, researchers and all in the medical field that are telling the facts, even in the face of overwhelming ignorance. Thank you for all you do.

I'm over 50 years old thanks to all the diseases I never got (like polio) thanks to my mom who loved me enough to get me vaccinated as a child.

My child has autism at no point has any doctor ever suggested vaccines ever had anything to do with it.

and even if it causes autism, then maybe America would get some smarter people then now....

The title explicitly said she was threatened. They gave us two examples of complaints and NO examples of a threat. First of all, I'm glad she wasn't threatened. Secondly, I despise click-bait. Thumbs down

56 doses received by age 6 yrs old. I think if these doctors talked about the long-term safety results of vaccine clinical trials and compatibility of vaccines with each other (which there are no studies on), you might just convince parents.

Sure sometimes kids don’t have good reactions to vaccines but those are temporary.

She posted a video, people who disagree with the message left negative comments. These guys: "the doctor was threatened." Gotta love the vanity, sensationalism and exaggeration in today's jurnalism.

why mainstream media don't want to interview doctors that don't support vaccine....let we hear from them too

I'd like to take a quick survey of people who have animals that have received yearly vaccinations. Yes, I get my dog the rabies vaccine because it's the law, but I also don't want my dog to get rabies. He also gets bordatella, dhlpp, and influenza as well. These are all diseases that have killed dogs in a very short period of time. Dogs have to have all of these before they can be boarded or go to doggy daycare because diseases like kennel cough and dog flu are easily transmitted during social interaction. So let's consider this for a moment, if we vaccinate our beloved animals for no other reason than we don't want them to die, why would we treat our children any differently? Because there are anonymous strangers/bloggers on the internet who tell us that the vaccines cause autism despite years of history and documented studies in MAJOR MEDICAL journals that refute those claims? The world population is living longer in comparison to 50 years ago and the # of children diagnosed with autism is still a small percentage of the population, but there are people who will put their kids at risk of death because a stranger told them the vaccines cause Autism. It defies all reason.

Why does this circle continue? Why hasn't a study of non - vaccinated children been done to see the autism rate among them?

Or let your body do its job. It's what our immune system is for...otherwise we wouldn't have one.
