Chuck Berry knows how to change dynamics. Above all the rhythm never stops rockin'. Never!

Chuck Berry, a rock & roll pioneer, was born in 1926. He passed away in 2017 at the age of 90. Joe Lynch said that “Berry contributed three things to rock music: an irresistible swagger, a focus on the guitar riff as the primary melodic element, and an emphasis on songwriting as storytelling.” Chuck Berry is without a doubt responsible for the current state of rock music.

Went to see Chuck at the Rainbow in the seventies - my lovely late husband Norman Foley had just lost his business -that week = he was ashen faced but I insisted we used our Rainbow tickets. The place was packed and the atmosphere magical. My lovely husband Norman had lost everything but it was so lovely to see Chuck in great form. I play this and remember all the good times when I was sixteen and heard Chuck Berry in the fifties - he was magical - I looked across at Norm and I was so grateful we went to the concert. He was a film cameraman on Henry V with Lord Olivier - he had a great career - how I miss him! And how I miss Chuck! Thank you You Tube.

I saw this concert 10 nights running as I was part of the Berry tour in 1972.

What an innovative musical genius...and a superb showman. John Lennon once said “If you wanna give Rock n Roll another name...how about Chuck Berry” Enough said!

I’m 17, discovered Chuck Berry in the past few years and wish I could’ve seen one of these live. Music produced these days just isn’t like this and can never be. Rest in rock heaven Chuck!
