Robert Hanssen is probably the worst, or at least most damaging, mole in US intelligence history. For over 20 years as an FBI agent, he provided secrets to the Soviets and to the Russians, until Operation Pennywise finally brought him down.

An hour of giving it a goo? What have we done to deserve such a gift Mike? ❤

I’ve been following you for years and I just realized it’s not about the true crime. You’re an excellent storyteller Mike!

Thank you for telling Stanislav Petrov’s story. Not enough folks know what we owe that gentleman. Literally everything.

This episode is INCREDIBLE! You knocked it out of the park, sir, and I can honestly say I haven't enjoyed any podcast episode this much in a LONG time.
Fantastic work. Truly. Thank you for your incredible effort, each and every day.

This is the first time I've ever supported a YouTuber to this extent and paid to show my support! Keep up the great work because it educates anyone who watches and filters out those who are only interested in sensationalized content like individual murders.

You truly have a special talent, so make sure not to waste it! I've been aware of this story and latest one, and I'm grateful that you're addressing it. You have a gift for storytelling, and it's truly remarkable!

Oh I loved this! That Chapter doesn't have to always be murder. An hour long video is like a gift!

My wife and I love this change of pace - keep it going. We sometimes get weary of true crime, especially the murders. Love the direction you're taking.

Hansen and Aldrich Ames are probably the two American spies for Russia that I find the most fascinating, partially because of how bold they were with it and partially because of how inept their superiors were about everything.

Been watching for about 3 years now and I love seeing Mike super excited to share and tell a story even if it’s different from the usual ones we all know and love. He could talk about a brick wall and I would some how find it fascinating and enjoyable.

Hey Mike, from New Zealand. I can see you absolutely loved telling this story. They say the Irish have the gift of the blarney. You are a natural story teller and it's a gift. I loved this story too and how you told it. Thank you.

As a Federal employee, I've been watching stuff on this guy since I began my career. He was quite a guy.

This was a great history lesson! I love how you just "know" all the info so well and are such a talented story teller! One of my favorite videos actually. Keep being amazing Mike! <3

Hey, Mike! Love the subtle change in pace! Such a great historical story, and you are such a superb storyteller. Wonderful combination. If you're ever in need of future content, please consider historical stories like this again. Well done, Sir!

Love this wee change up to your usual murdery stories. You are such an engaging storyteller, I'd literally listen to you read Ikea instructions or the weather. But this was such a treat! I like you long-form, much like Mr Ballen or Simon Whistler. Mike, youre a gem. Please grace us with more espionage and convoluted plots. Your thorough research delivered in such a conversational tone and lil quips make every story that much better. Yes pls!👍👍

On top of how great of a story teller you are, it gets much much better with those jokes, and faces that you drop every now and then, either mocking the criminal or making a silly rendition of how someone actually would act in such a situation.

Hansson was probably the reason why government positions started paying costs based on locality finally. My husband was in the military during the 90s on & it was difficult to transfer from one base to another for this reason. The salary was low, housing sometimes had over a year waiting list & the new place was more expensive than the last. I'm not excusing selling out your country. Just that it was a difficult situation to be in when you got transferred to a far more expensive place

Wow, excellent storytelling, Mike. Over an hour, but it felt a lot shorter. Got totally engrossed in it. Thanks for all your research and sharing of your results the way you do. I'm always looking forward to the next one.
