In addition to long straddles and short strangles, there's also short straddles. Not sure if you've ever done one, but they behave quite a bit differently from short strangles. Much differently than most people expect, because there's not really any gamma risk. Anyway, excellent video, and I look forward to more long straddles.

I am only just learning, but I was thinking what if you close the winning leg, so you get the profit but leave the losing leg in case if it goes in the opposite direction before the end of the contract so there is a possibility to win on both legs.

great vid but i am a little unsure of implied volatility, is it high at market open? Otherwise I would see this as being a very succseful strategy buying and holding first 4 hours of the day or so

Would there be any merit to a strategy where you buy a straddle on a Green Day (low IV) maybe 2 weeks out and immediately set a good to close profit target of something moderate like 5%?

Straddles will only work on stocks that move 10 points in 15 minutes. After 30 minutes time decay will make it impossible to come out ahead

Question. I currently have a cash account so I can day trade unlimitedly. But, due to my account being a cash account, I cannot open any multi-leg trades. Would there be any difference if I bought the call & put as 2 separate trades? Thanks
