I will never understand why someone should be jealous when others get their debt forgiven. Upon self reflection .. any bad feeling can only be malicious jealousy and utmost egoistic greed. So you paid off your debt - good for you. Why is it your business when someone else gets their debt relieved? Its not like you loose anything. It is literally a win-win situation. And if you consider paying off your debt to have been a troublesome affair .. why in the world do you wish the same negative experience on others?

The “People payed for their education. Why don’t others have to?” Argument is like saying “people died from X disease, it’s not fair to the people that died to give people vaccines”

I paid my student loans and underwent a lot of hardship to do so. I would love it if future students didn't have to go through what I went through. I don't understand the controversy here. I don't want my kids, my grandkids, or my neighbor's kids to go through that mess.

My husband and I saved and paid for our 2 daughters to attend state school, friends who were not frugal, took out loans for their children and are now struggling to pay those loans back. If Warrens, or hopefully Bernie’s plan goes into affect I will be happy. Happy that we never had those loans hanging over our necks, and happy that our friends no longer have that yoke around theirs. It’s not me, it’s us.
