Dear outdoor parents, this one is for you.

If you've ever wondered whether it's worth packing everyone up and driving to a trailhead, only to be there for a short time before everyone is done for the day and ready to go home, this video is for you.

Trust me when I say it's worth it. Every moment is worth it because it will be something they remember.

It's not about the perfect day, the perfect weather, or whatever else. It's about spending time together, making memories, and being a family.

I hope this video encourages you. If it does, let me know. I'd love to hear about your experiences in the outdoors with kids. It can be hard, and it's nice to know we're not alone.

Such a great example Emory.

For years I took my kids outdoors and they couldn't stand it. This past summer I got permits and planned to hike the John Muir Trail with friends. Wouldn't you know my 15yr old told me he wanted to hike the JMT with me.

The best experience of my life and totally came out of nowhere. You never know what your kids are actually thinking, feeling, and wanting. But you keep trying and keep trying and keep trying. One day the breakthrough will happen. Just don't give up before the miracle happens!
