In fact, you should work to protect and preserve infrastructure that could be the nucleus of a community in your area.
For example, a veterinary clinic with solar panels that could be the start of a clinic that could fill the community's medical needs. Be smart, and work with your neighbors to assert Rule of Law in your area.

i absolutely am against looting. but scavenging I do all the time. I kind of have to. when money is a scarcity, you do what you have to do.

I think that is what all are/should be working on and towards-creating channels of communication and trade amongst ourselves, as we build our own tribes, but also with extended tribes/mags. Funny you uploaded this, I’m actually looking for a good mesh bag to add to my recon/scout kit in the event I do come across items I would need.

I have a lot of preparation. Food and arms are about 50 / 50. If SHTF one has to immediately resupply. My preps are 12months deep but I'm not going to wait till I am desperate for something prior to finding more. We produce some of our food and bullets but rely on our preparedness for most of our supplies. We have several prior Military, Police officers, trauma nurse and about 40 like minded people. The horrific thing is you have to be willing to do what needs to be done including taking life. It simply comes down to you or them. I won't detail my Security and Arms but its plentiful. Plenty to get what we need.

Instead of looting and scavenging, prepare and make friends who work in a trade.

A farmer, a mechanic, a carpenter, I dabble In those three and am an avid above all else marksman, and collector of oddities, especially old items that are made to work.

abandoned property- scavenging/foraging. You go next door to check on grandma Jones, and discover that she has passed. She has no known heirs (or no heirs capable of exercising control & dominion over her property). What do you, or your group, do with grandma Jones's land/house/tractor/food???

Something I would like for you to touch on as there’s only so much praying I would be able to do. My son who’s six is now getting over a 2 week bout of pneumonia. My daughter who’s 10 was diagnosed 2 years ago with epilepsy and takes 6 pills a day. What the heck will I do if something goes wrong? A simple sinus infection or strep throat could easily take a life. Something we all take for granted.

A thin line between scavenging and looting. When the thought that things aren't going to be the same ever is somebody going to need or not need? My belief is that SHTF means all bets are off. Survival will be number one on the list.

long term shtf or wrol would end up looking like Somalia, warlords and such running things and bad people doing what they do to the weak unless stronger people come together and resist and try to reform a new type of community . I pray to god that never happens here because most Americans are not prepared for that type of event, mentally, materially or spiritually, many will fall and as you said .
