Shawn, make yourself a fire fighter trailer for the buggy with pump & IBC tote, you won’t be sorry and it’ll be vital in case of Forrest fire.

This is already so much more a livable area long-term than the previous homestead! This is going to be awesome!

I was down with a broken hip these last few years. It was FINALLY replaced 9 mo. Ago and watching Mr. James all this time really kept my spirits up . I got alot of strength watching this man's works. I'm now able to do alot more - I sure wish I was strong enough to build my own cabin yet lol GOD SPEED 🙏
THANK YOU MR JAMES

You are doing a fine job Shawn. Don't be stressed about not getting a video out every week. Getting the garden in and the greenhouse all planted and working is the first thing. I don't want you to starve all winter. There is lots of time to build the cabin. And I think with the different way that you are going to do the logs... it will be much quicker and almost ready to live in... once you get the logs up. Less chinking. But. Its good to know that you have the shop to stay in... until you are happy to move into your new cabin. Its ok to mechanize a little. We don't expect you to live like Mr. Prenneke did. We just enjoy all of the little projects that you do. You have a good spring... and I can't wait for the first logs to get laid for the cabin.

My neighbors just brought us the most beautiful, large head of celery they grew in their greenhouse. They actually built their greenhouse over their large garden last fall. Whereas another neighbor and I bought smaller ones from Amazon to just try to protect some of our potted plants from the Texas winter, this neighbor designed and built his own, with the help of friends and family, over a couple of weekends. They were already amazing gardeners, and this just upped their game. Our garden is growing, because of the recent non stop rain, but no food yet. Well, except for asparagus, but I’m not cutting them yet, as they need these for collecting sun. Maybe later this year, as this is their third year.

I don’t know why, but I like this new venture so much more.
The cabin will be so much more hospitable too.
Such a great endeavour to watch.

Full steam ahead .... in a calm and measured effort. That biodome was a very smart move indeed .... for many reasons. I would call it a bit of a game changer in the protection of your garden, as well as extending your growing season. Also a good place to hide from the Canadian national bird .... the mosquito! Love these short updates ... take care.

Shawn take a minute to have a breather mate LOL Your working so hard. Don't apologise for using electric tools if it helps speed things up and makes it easier for you, look at what you've achieved so far without them.
Are you living in the workshop at the moment?
You new intro is now, " welcome to the Homestead"
Look forward to the next instalment Shawn

I hope you consider leaving enough space for a couple of chairs and a table to use to enjoy the beauty of your plants when it is to hot, cold, snowy or buggy. What a wonderful oasis you are building.

My suggestion would be to put to half moon beds in the middle with a walkway in-between the two... great use of the space, putting larger growing plants right in the middle... like squash that spreads out, but access to the sides with the walkway for ease. Also you could compost in the middle and then just pull to the sides int he spring to even the beds back out.

Iam so pleased to be back ive missed you cooking 🍳 😋, it looks lovely and I hope you never have to move ever again. I loved the old place but we must all wait and see what the new homestead will be like. Just take care and stay safe all.

I have to say watching your hard work manifest into such beautiful rustic creations from scratch is very motivating and uplifting to say the least. Thank you for taking us along for the ride.

It was really nice of you to give us that drone shot of the homestead. It gets more immersive knowing where things are. Cheers.

Although I’m sure You feel like you need 2 clones of yourself to work in other areas, it’s actually coming together quickly 👏 it looks great!

I believe you're very busy and that's why we didn't get a video yesterday. I understand and support the decision to focus on what is most important. I do miss it when you can't upload, though.
