It's Over, Isn't It? (final animation & storyboard side-by-side)

Decided to do a side-by-side of Pearl's song "It's Over, Isn't It?" with the original storyboard. Heavy editing done to make timing line up. There are some major differences towards the end of the song, see if you can spot them!

Bruh I just noticed the subtle symbolism in this scene. Whenever pearl refers to the past she wears her top hat, and whenever she is speaking about her life now she conveniently takes it off. Also there's another pretty obvious display of symbolism at the end where she lets go of the rose to show "rose" is gone, its really good storytelling and you can tell the effort they put in by adding all these small details. this scene perfectly encapsulates the conflict of this episode

aside from the singing the real heart-breaking thing is throughout the song you can see her face constantly switch from angry, melancholy, lost, pained, depressed, defeated, and thoughtful. so many similar emotions but you can see them indevidually across her face throughout the entire song.

1:25 and 1:43 if you look closely you will see that in the storyboard, pearl is depicted far more quite and almost calm, . Thanks to Dee Dees BEAUTIFUL voice acting the scenes where reanimated 👏

Why are some people saying Pearl's salty in this?? She not being salty at all! She's just expressing how she wants to move on from Rose, but she can't. She probably needs help with that, and you can't really blame her for needing help. Sure she seemed a bit salty in Story for Steven, but that was more of a petty thing; and she isn't mad at Greg at all. She's just sad Rose fell in love with him, and now she's dead. So please, stop saying she's salty in this song.

Best part of this song: you'd barely have to change the lyrics and it'd be a perfect Broadway ballad. I could imagine Judy Garland singing this. It has that perfect level of melancholy.
