If you want a more colourful end portal I found replacing the hopper with an end chest looks good too! It also gives off small particles which are a great addition

Ok the mini enderdragon tactic i use is: one cauldron for the torso, upside down black coloured staircase for the tail, black carpet and string to cover the cauldron hole and for the wings, and of course a dragon head,
