The Galaxy 21 and Galaxy S22 are cost reductions. The Galaxy S20 was a flagship phone which was designed to be the best. When the S21 came around, Samsung must have decided they needed to lower the list price (which they did) and they designed to a price point. The dropped the uSD card, the curved screen (some like it some don't, but it was clearly a more expensive an premium feature), dropped the screen resolution, and dropped the Headphone Jack. The Galaxy S20 was the better phone. The only thing the new phones have going for them is they should be getting faster processors because they always get faster w/o price increases. I hate the direction Samsung has gone. I want a flagship phone. I don't want a cost reduction. I bought the Samsung S20 Plus as soon as I saw the S21 specifications. I had been waiting for the S21, but when I saw it was a cost reduction and worse than the S20, I immediately purchased an S20.

To confirm, the s20 still has like 2 years of updates. I won't trade my s20 for nothing. The back is a little ugly but the insides are gold. Super fast, responsive, great screen and battery is good for a 2 year phone. Used it since the year it launched and haven't complained one bit. Def worth the $1000, this is what a flagship phone should be.

I've noticed a lot of phone manufacturers are downgrading their phones in 2022 vs 2020 yet selling them at the same or a higher price. I'll be getting the s20 and wait 2-3 more years for a real upgrade.

I still have my s20 since i bought it on launch. Seeing the new phones makes me want to stick with it cuz it seems superior in many ways and honestly I just really like my s20

S20 = 1440p, 12GB RAM, microSD, magnetic stripe technology, bigger battery
S22 = 1080p, 8GB RAM, no SD card, no MST

S20 is better. I just bought an S20+ two years after it came out because it's better than the new phones.

Says "obviously the S22 is better"... proceeds to show video where the S20 is thinner, has a better display, bigger battery, expandable storage, and opens apps faster.

Samsung has some optimization to do. I find my s22 sometimes taking longer to load apps like Spotify than my s10e. But it's *super* important to remember the phone doesn't officially launch until the 25th so I believe things have room to improve

Got the s20 when it first came out and due an upgrade really soon. And still love it. So a won't be rushing out for the s22,

I'm selling my s22 ultra and looking for another S20. I'll upgrade eventually, but the S20 is a great phone.

I upgraded to the s22ultra, it has a lot of bugs despite the software updates. I've placed the phone aside for now and went to using an s20... no issues at all!!!

Once the battery on the S22 regular starts degrading like batteries do you wont have to worry about software updates 4 years from now.

The s20 has a whopping 12gb of LPDDR4, whereas the s22 only has 8 gb. This is why the s20 is able to beat the 22 in a lot of the speed tests. Even when the memory isnt fully utilized, the s20 has lower dram density (more chips), so it has better IOPS as well.

0:36 Wrong. 1440p doesn't work at 120hz. You have to drop down to 1080p for 120hz. 1440p can only run at 60hz on this phone.

Returning my S22 and getting the S20. Many of the comparisons are negligible but worthy to note.

S20 larger screen
S20 higher resolution & PPI
S20 larger battery
S20 more RAM
S20 expandable storage up to 1000GB
S20 larger battery
S20 not as heavy

On paper the S22 has slightly better camera, processor specs and software update schedule but that's it. As for the speed comparison there's really no discernable difference between the two (S22 certainly does not blow the S20 out of the water in any comparison).

Last but not least bring back the edge screen. The S22 looks and feels exactly like an iPhone with the flat surface and boxy feel. Coming from the S10 the S22 simply does not feel as comfortable as the S10 in my hand, too many sharp edges (just personal preference).
