I have no idea what I’m doing

life has been slow and lovely and blooming lately. this week i focused mostly on getting the garden ready and planted, so this video is just kinda quiet calm vibes for the most part ♡

My dog is not scared of people or noises or smells. But new objects, she’s absolutely terrified. We recently got a “new” table, and she cried about it for a week. Since it still hadn’t eaten her, she finally accepted the new addition to her life. I’m gonna guess it’s not a cursed table, it’s a sensitive dog 😊

You need plants in the pond for the fish to hide under, otherwise predators will eat them! Also to protect them from
the sun.

This is why we taught our dogs ‘show me’ bc it’s so frustrating when you can’t figure out what they are upset about/want. So now when we say show me they walk us to the thing that’s bothering them haha

Algae in a pond is actually a good thing (in moderation of course). It helps keep the water clean. I think I saw someone else comment that you should put some plants in the pond so the fish have somewhere to hide -not only from the sunshine, but from predators as well. Plants will also help keep the algae at bay.

Tip for the algae, cut a few short lengths of copper pipe. If there's a filter and some place it will fit, or up in the waterfall, put one there, and anywhere else there may be circulating water. It really works. My mom heard this and put one in her pool filter, no algae the rest of the summer. A gf put a few copper pennies in her birdbath, and still no algae!

I also think the dog is upset about the table placement. If I recall, he's laid there enjoying the sun and stood up in the window looking outside.

Hannah, I have learned (the hard way sometimes) to "ALWAYS" listen to a dog as they might be telling you something you need to know. Dogs are acutely aware of their surroundings and if there were a snake wending it's to you, you might want to know that, as it might be venomous. He's a good boy and he just wants to protect you. He also hears things you can't.

you can also use that straw as row cover!! it helps retain moisture in the beds and prevents as many weeds from sprouting up. you can sprinkle it around your beds once your starts are in/seeds are up and big enough!

Pond plants will help keep the algae down so you don't have to clean it as often! and it would provide cover for the fish so they roam around more :) zoomies and rolling around in the grass are signs of a very happy dog Hannah, Finn's so happy with you!

I love seeing people grow their own food 🙌🏻 in regards to the strawberries, you should plant them with in a bed of straw… this is their preferred habitat… they are named after it. 🥰 Exposed ground is too dry for them 💕

Love this girl! I love her energy, work ethic (she is so smart), how much she loves all animals, and the fact that she has a little peace of Heaven, right here on earth! It's really relaxing watching her, and it also reminds me that I need to get my ass in gear, get up, and get some things done around here, too! LOL And I think my favorite thing about her, is how much love and compassion she shows animals.

An idea for the pond the more established you have the plant life in it, there will be a huge decrease in maintenance to do in it! Aquatic plants take care of a large part of fish poop clean up, algae, and also balancing the bio life inside. Snails will also help with algae cleanup. There is also things you can get to help boost start nutrients in the water for the plants to establish faster and easier. But they’ll help a great deal with managing it the pond in the long run!

Love how you are just tackling projects and doing it all your own way! I just moved to a farm and I am finding myself saying “well lets just do it” quite a lot haha, I may not know how to do it “right” but I’m doing it and it feels great!

I’m wondering if adding some water plants to your pond would be nice for the fish to hang around?! It may also help with keeping algae under control?
