I remember playing these games also! :) But what killed me was when he pronounced Oregon wrong. He said OR-EE-GON When it is "OR-IH-GEN" hahahah. It drives me crazy!

I had a DOS version of Math Blaster!
Also had a DOS Carmen Sandiego. At school, i was the only kid to reach "Master Sleuth", at which point the game says, "You win too much, you can't play any more" in a more graceful way.
My favourite educational game was Midnight Mysteries or something like that - you played a sleuth at a school while a mad scientist was making robots that were causing all kinds of trouble. You had to memorize clues and photo the guilty robot, in between answering questions.

That warms my heart.
( There is a video called "WW2: The winter war Russia invades Finland part 1" I think that would be a spot to start at, if talking about recent history. )

COD:Black Ops taught me a bit about the Vietnam war. But when she asked me to name one major hero I said Frank Woods. Maybe I should have actually studied.

*Hears Lasercorn talking about a game that brought his typing skills up... Learns that it's Mario Teaches Typing and not Typing of the Dead. Then proceeds to spit out coffee*

Yes! The Jump Start series are the first thing that come to my mind when you speak of educational games. I loved the Jump Start 1st grade :D

Math blaster and Mario teaches Typing, two games that I know very well over a decade ago. Good times.

Spore teaches you that creatures rapidly grow random arms and change shape entirely because they ate enough other animals.

In computer class, I remember that we used a very good series of educational games: they were called "Adventures of 3rd Grade" It has various sequels for 4th 5th and 6th grade, but the 3rd grade one was my favorite!!

I'm not ranting but, on number 1, lasercorn said a game that let's you shoot people, what about typing of the dead, it let's you shoot zombies while improving your typing speed, I don't want to get any shit from anyone, it's just a suggestion, I am perfectly fine with the list.
