The ice age thing is genius, because one of the biggest problems with previous Avatar games was “how do we let the player water bend freely without any water around to bend?” Just cover the whole world in ice and snow. I love it

Edit: “What about pulling water from plants and moisture?” That’s too advanced of a technique without character progression and the amount of water to be pulled from those and a water pouch would be very small

I feel like this is one of those things like bethesda announcing Elder scrolls 6 the second they decided to make it and before they created a single line of the script, concept art or assigned a single person to work on it. Like they just announced it as soon as production started and this is something we aren't gonna see for another 3-5 years I'd much prefer we get the news closer to release like a year maybe 2 out but hey the idea of it sounds cool

The “fire nation” might be composed mainly of sun warriors, the capital being the civilization we was in the sun warrior episode, as well as the mystic fire people that korra met.

pretty sure the dragon in the concept art is tiny and right next to the player, not in the distance

I wish we get to choose our starter element or "class", starting in different Locations, different Towns, kind of like BotW where you can choose which element to tackle next and master fully, leveling it up progressively and after helping all 4 "tribes" or whatever of each element, you get the climactic ending against potentially that water bender. I would love for each element to have a seperate villain and maybe the main villain is a "dark" or "shadow" version of the Avatar, having motives not necessarily connected to the whole ice age era but either way, I'm EXTREMELY excited to see this series alive and well, especially as a gamer. Let's hope for an amazing future for the Avatar franchise

Aang picking up a gun might be the most cursed thing I've witnessed in my life, thanks for that.

Would be pretty cool if we play the Avatar who establishes the 4 nations or at least the groundwork towards it. Use this game to add more lore to the Avatar Universe.

A fire Avatar in a world that doesn't have the FIre Nation yet does have some potential. Maybe you help with that a little bit, too. Not forming a Nation perhaps, but getting the islands that would one day become the Fire Nation to cooperate together for the first time against the evil threat, whatever it happens to be, which is what sparks the beginning of what eventually becomes the Fire Nation.

See, this kind of thing just writes itself, doesn't it? :)

I have great hopes for this with saber at the helm.

Since it’s an RPG it would be cool if you could choose who your teachers are and depending on who it is it changes your fighting style for that element

it would make sense if the fire nation at this point in time would be the sun warrior civilization hence why the native firebender avatar player has a dragon companion

Brian’s art is giving dark fantasy more than before—I’m sure the original viewer base for avatar (early 2000s kids who’ve aged into all sorts of nerds) has been kept in mind

I hope they hire the team that made Rumble (on steam). Its literally the perfect example of what an Earthbending game would be like, and if you could find a away to implement the other elements its the perfect avatar game.

Just hope they add co-op progression system so we can be able to feel like a real team with our friends upgrading together 🙏🏿

If they combine this with VR treadmill, that would be very enticing and that alone would be a reason to buy a VR set & treadmill.

It would be interesting if it's a global ice age or only regional cooling like the historical Little Ice Age. I don't think volcanic eruptions alone are enough to trigger an ice age but don't quote me on that. However, in the game, the ice age itself might be a mystery in a sense that while the eruptions resulted to colder temperatures in a specific region, something else must be maintaining and spreading the cooling to the entire globe which is a perfect time for a villain to be the heart of that mystery. So here are my theories:

1. The villain is either a powerful waterbender or a spirit deity trying to extend the "ice age" for a certain reason.
2. Waterbenders will likely be the main sources of conflict because they know how to navigate the world under the extreme cold.
3. The concept art suggests the firebending civilization wears an armor design that is much closer to that of the 100-year war armor instead of Wan's armor which might imply that this ice age slows down the technological progress of the Fire Tribes. It might be possible that a certain Fire Tribe might be gaining power enough to form a prototype Nation but the ice age breaks them up again into tribes or at the very least halts their progress. Their rise to power might be attributed to the usefulness of fire for survival, and building their wealth by pillaging Lion Turtle cities lead by Fire Tribe Warlords. (Or it's just a concept art that might amount to absolutely nothing lol)
4. If we take some creative liberties (because this might not be the most scientifically accurate theory and I guess it doesn't need to), I theorize that volcanoes will play a role in the conflict if the volcanic ash is blocking the sun and weakening the firebenders which means the Fire Tribes might rely on the next energy source, volcanoes. Dragons might play a significant role too.
5. If that is the case, Water Tribes guarding the volcanoes would make sense if the Fire Tribe that was gaining power is a threat to them. This might also explain why the Fire Nation Capital is later built on a volcanic caldera because they don't want to suffer like they did during this Ice Age (ofc, this didn't guarantee that they were safe from similar events like The Day of the Black Sun lol).
6. If Ba Sing Se is thriving during this era, I thought that maybe they lived underground. Then I found on the wiki that the city itself started underground where they first found the glowing crystals which they mined as a light source. It would be so cool to explore the now ancient crystal catacombs in its early state. Ba Sing Se could also be a good resupply station in the game if the city trade is still thriving lol.
7. It's challenging for me to imagine the Si Wang desert frozen and snowing but I would love to see Wan Shi Tong's Library intact but covered in ice which would be an epic mission where players could steal some scrolls! lol
8. The airbenders might be the last ones to abandon their Lion Turtle cities. We would likely see some Lion Turtles pop up here and there throughout the game because they are not extinct yet. Maybe we can visit some Lion Turtle City ruins. This is too dark but I kind of like the idea of a city ruins on top of an empty shell.
9. This is a little goofy but wouldn't it be funny if The Great Divide episode joins the forefront of the canon if the Tribes tradition in that episode is a result of the Ice Age? lol What I mean by that is the tradition supposedly represents the rising and setting of the sunrise according to the episode which is a strange ritual for an Earth Tribe to have. Maybe they started the tradition to celebrate the end of the Ice Age when the sun was finally able to rise again lmao. If the game ends with Jin Wei transporting the crystal orb and gets ambushed by Wei Jin and Wei Jin is the player, I would die laughing. 😂
