ROAD TRIP AROUND TURKEY (Bergama to Bursa)

Today we officially kick off our road trip around turkey! In all we plan to drive over 5,000km all around turkey visiting the best cities turkey has to offer!

Today we fly from Istanbul to Izmir, where we pickup our rental car. We then drive to Bergama and explore this small town before we eventually settle into Bursa. Once in Bursa we try some popular street food such. as Cevizli Lokum, Tahinli and Simit Bread.

we live in Turkey, on the southwest coast, and you are right about how lovely the people are! Tahini is sesame paste, ceviz is walnut, the meaty one will be a kind of borek, can be stuffed with spinach and/or cheese. enjoy Turkey!

About donuts: In the Aegean region, we call it "Lokma" and sharing with anybody passing by is called "Lokma Döktürmek". Usually, it is made to commemorate the dead on their death anniversary. Hoping the kindness we do here helps them in the other world. Sometimes it is done to share the joy of something we achieved or happened, like opening a new business, buying a house, a car or having a newborn in the family(usually grandparents do this hoping this kindness bring luck to their grandchildren).
