Sadly the Director and founder of this incredible music choir had passed away and his last rite was performed on 8.1.2022.
The legacy will live on.

I lived in Shillong 50 yrs ago during my Army service.i used to go to the local church there.their Coir is so nice.they sing well.because of the many mountains.hills and vallys.when they sing on Sunday.the music flows along the mountains always.it was amazing. 😂😂❤

So sad that Mr Neil Nongkynrih is no more with us. Rest In Peace Sir. I was passing through the Loretta School Chapel as a tourist and you were talking to this group, and I will never forget what you said. You said "REMEMBER YOU DON'T SING FOR YOURSELF, YOU SING IN THE SERVICE OF THE LORD" . I was kid when I was a student at St Edmunds in the early and mid 60s but then I visited Shillong again to see my school in 2010. This rendition is absolutely phenomenally awesome.

"Somewhere, My Love" is a Hollywood movie song from the classic movie Dr Zhivago, which is based on a Russian novel of the same name by Boris Pasternak-- the story is set in Russia after the Russian Revolution but before World War II. The tune is called "Lara's Theme".

So, an Indian ensemble singing a Hollywood song about a Russian story back to a Russian audience. :)
