they have their own patented ingredient which they say is 63 times of normal vitamin c. I use this serum and it indeed made a difference in my skin. citrus acid is used as preservative. ALso Glycolic acid doesn't brighten skin.

The active ingredient is “Palmitoyl Grapevine Shoot Extract.” The brand calls it viniferine. It likely has some fruit acid in it, but regardless saying something can’t brighten if it’s not an acid is absurd… vitamin c and niacinimide aren’t acids and they are used to treat pigmentation. Caudalie has clinical trials to back this product up, which can’t be said for a lot of skincare brands. People need to stop pretending to be experts on the internet.

Lmao people missed the point. You’re not saying it doesn’t work, just that it doesn’t do exactly what it says. Viniferine isn’t a brightening agent. It seems that it repairs damage that causes dark spots and also acts as a
preventative in a way (going by your explanation), but that doesn’t make it a brightener. If people says it’s working, it very well could be, just not because it’s brightening the dark spots. That’s literally all you’ve pointed out. And then people misinterpreted that and got nasty about it. Smh.
