Celebrating 50 Years of College Access

Led by the University of Chicago Office of Civic Engagement, the Collegiate Scholars Program (CSP) and Office of Special Programs-College Prep (OSP), have helped transform Chicago’s high school graduation and college preparation outcomes by providing the city’s high school students with attainable paths to a college education. University of Chicago faculty, staff and students have helped each program meet its goals, demonstrating an institutional commitment to impacting the next generation of urban youth.

In 2018, CSP and OSP are respectively marked their 15th and 50th anniversaries. The OSP milestone is particularly significant as its Upward Bound program is one of the longest-running in the country.
