I can tell you subsidies do NOT help the farmer. They just incentivize them to be dependent on the government. I know this from personal experience as a Malawian and I can tell you that many farmers in my country who were farming under a subsidy programme did not get any wealthier and many resorted to selling their land just to survive.

Edit: What I mean is that I personally had not heard Trump talk about farmers. I was NOT trying to say that he never did before. I'm sure he did! I wasn't listening or tuning in or whatever before when he was talking about farmers. Sorry for the confusion.

I've never heard him talk about farmers. I love it. I am a daughter of a farmer. My dad didn't take the pay off to let the fields go to waste like some of our neighbors did. He wanted to farm honestly and get paid for his crops and cattle fairly. Farming was such a battle for him. He loved the land and wanted to farm, but it was always an uphill battle and he lost that battle at age 53 when he died while farming. I used to not really listen to Trump because I didn't like the way he spoke, but now, the more I listen, the more I like him.

Over the past year or two I've noticed one thing that has caught my attention while grocery shopping, and it's the shock on people's faces as they are looking at prices- my own as well. Even trying to switch to all store brands doesn't help. Most grocery store brands themselves have nearly doubled in price. It's beyond ridiculous. 😭
