Valve Solenoid Basics

There are many ways to control the position of the valve spool. This week, we'll look at the solenoid — an energized coil of wire. It creates a magnetic field which moves the spool. We look at basic operation, maintenance, and what can go wrong.

When trouble shooting electric over hydraulic, always pull the coil off the valve stem and verify its clean in between coil and valve stem, and that stem is not slightly bent. Both can be a real showstopper, and turn up in equipment regularly.

when spool is in null postion, should we get oil in A and B, we have tested on Directional valve, we inserted 150 barg on P and we are gettingoil drop on Port A and B, is this normal in Null Postion without any command to Solonoide valve

Can these solenoid valves be actuated in such a way to feather the hydraulic flow by using a rheostat or are they only able to be operated fully open or fully closed?

Hello, I have a jeep 2004 with hydraulic fan motor, with solenoide Valve to control speed.
Seems the solenoid is not working.
Can it be serviced, there are no replacements available.
Or how do I try it, to discard a malfunction

I’m having trouble where the valve will work in one direction not not the other and even pressing the manual pin still will not make it work in the other direction

hellow, please tell me if you know.I have a kafee maschine and during make a capucinno explosed e high pressure hose( this one who get in the solenoid valve ) i changed the hose and for a short time came pressure 3 sec and after this exploded again my ask is what can be broken ? solenoid valve or i have problems with hight pressure boiler? the watter ist warm...THanks

What would it indicate if you pushed both manual overrides and they both stayed pushed in? I have that problem on a autocrane crane. Will not scope in or out. Thanks. Your video is very clear to understand. I never knew how they worked but I get it now. Thanks again

In a hydraulic directional solenoid valve symbol, if there is a colored triangle symbol next to solenoid symbol then such valves are called as Hydraulic Pilot operated solenoid valves. But my doubt is how does a solenoid valve operate on Pilot pressure, it operates only when we give electrical signal to the solenoids. Kindly help me to understand this.
