If you know Wicked, all of Ariana's possible showstopping moments are in movie 2, Thank Goodness and the reprise of I'm not That Girl are the only chance she really has at showing a comedic character going though a real dramatic moment

Assuming GLADIATOR 2 does really well at both awards and box office, this could be the year that Denzel Washington finally makes the BAFTA nominees list. It helps that Ridley Scott (who is British) is the director of this film too.
Don't forget that Will Smith was similarly ignored by BAFTAs until KING RICHARD, and he swept that season.

I for some reason feel extremely confident in Gomez🤷‍♂️I she is at every event and has become a sort of face of the movie for some(at least from what I’ve seen). She could honestly just be an easy 4th slot placement for some that gets her in everywhere ala Emily Blunt .

Also, Watch out for Grande as Glinda is by far the best part of act 1 of wicked

Fellow mexican here, i loved Emilia Perez, i hope the two supporting ladies make the cut, personally i think their performances were fantastic
Also watch out for Joan Chen, i feel like she could get a critics choice and sag nomination along the way

Alessandro Nivola in Brutalist is my underdog nominee

John Magaro certainly felt like the lead of September 5. He’s in the opening and closing shots, and the film feels very centered on him. Sarsgaard has much less screentime. Regardless, no way either would get a lead acting nom, so I can see them both being campaigned in supporting.

I really don't think Ellis-Taylor is happening. She doesn't have enough screentime or industry connections (because it's harder for women of color, also why Deadwyler may be snubbed). I've been anticipating Gomez getting snubbed, but if her films wins SAG ensemble, I find it hard to see. Also, GG's have no reason to leave her out of 6 if Emilia Perez will be more embraced by international voting bodies.

I also think Culkin is being overestimated, especially for a win. He won't. His type of performance only gets a win for being overdue and he really hasn't had that much outside of Succession. I think the points you made for him actually help Jeremy Strong more, especially after his broadway win. I do think, Clarence Maclin will just end up with the Oscar at the end of the day though

I don’t get the uncertainty around Jeremy Strong. The raves for his performance have been unanimous and it’s the kind of performance the Academy loves. Do you think it’s just the lack of campaigning budget that’s holding him back?

If A Real Pain makes Best Picture I think Culkin could and should win. I think it really comes down to if it makes picture or not. If it doesn’t I don’t think Culkin would be strong enough. What do you think?
