Chewing gum is composed of gum base softners, sweeteners and flavors.
When chewing gum, sweetness, flovourings are broken down and digested andbase and softners are left resulting a flavorless mass.
Gum should not be swallowed but if swallowed will be excreted in the normal manner.

Jay, your videos are in one word; Brilliant. My first score with official Pearson training materials was just 70. Chewing gums are made from the tree saps, different flavours and artificial sweeteners and the saliva will digest these but if we swallow the chewing gum, it may not be harmful as some people think.
