I think if Johannes was doing a video on vegetables I'd watch it!

The best feature is the extra sticker 🥳

@johannesboonstra6917  With the Lynx BMS it's still useful to connect a ve.bus smart dongle to the Multiplus to allow for voltage drop compensation? Or maybe the Cerbo will send it the voltage measured by the BMS, acting like the dongle, somehow?

Thanks for continuing to create great videos. I have a full Victron set up with the Lynx Smart BMS. Unfortunately last year while I was away the batteries couldn't charge from solar due to the temperature being under 4C - the BMS kept drawing power over the course of a month until my 27V battery got to 19V - I had expected it to protect itself but unfortunately it left me with a battery that's out of warranty due to the voltage having been so low (I believe). The switch turned off so I guess the final power was used by the Cerbo GX and buzzer. Do you know what could have caused that? It doesn't seem to have impacted the battery capacity but I was frustrated that I'd paid a lot to try and protect the battery and it didn't.

Just ordered a Multiplus II. Will be upgrading to lithium so I’m going to swap out the Lynx Shunt for the Lynx BMS.

Hello. In the case of 8 lithium batteries 100 amps each, total 800 amps, what would be the recommended BMS? 500 or 1000? I would also need 2x Distributors for the batteries, right?
Is it possible to use the M8 distributors for this bateries with the BMS 1000 (M10)? thanks !!

Watching all these videos. The whole product range feels overwhelmingly complex. How can I figure out what I need for my campervan?

What is the difference between Victron smart shunt 1000

what is this for what is that junction box to the right of his head at 0:17? looks like a lynx "power in" with only one pair of connectors

can u connect this bms to a po4 battery ?

It seems like what the Lynx system is missing is a Lynx Battery Protect Module/Switch for people not using Victron batteries. I would have to put a Battery Protect module in between the Lynx Shunt ant the Lynx Distributor which makes the nice Lynx stacking connector system useless.

This is really well designet. But I would really like if the alarms from Lynx would be displayed at the Cerbo homepage. Stuff like low SOC or low temp batteries should be displayed as an alarm on the home screen. Not only in the setup screen. Is is very difficult to figure out what is happening if the Lynz switches off without a warning on the Cerbo first.

Does this work with any battery from any company? if not, is there a list of batteries it works with?

Is there anyone I can speak with about my current setup and changes I was thinking of making? Tried to call but was told Victron won't help consumers, just vendors, is this true? Thank you.

Hello and good for the video
I wanted to ask you if it is possible to install the bms from victron (16S for a packlife that I have in 48 volts? 600AH)?
or do you have to have a victron battery?
my batteries are EVE 280AH in 16/2P
can we wire all the batteries with the bms from victron or do we need a bms compatible with the victron?

otherwise is it possible if there is no can in the battery pack to tell victron (multiplus and cerbo GX) that I have a lead gel battery pack?
there is no bms on the lead in general?
my pack can be protected by its own BMS cutoff 2.80 volts and maximum charge at 3.65 volts Possibly just to emit more or less on the multiplus?

thank you
laurent

Can this work with non Victron batteries?

So this is not a bms, but a controller for multiple batteries?

Ik zal graag Johannes een keer tegen komen om van know-how te wisselen.

I Wish they made this with only the contactor (and shunt). As an inbetween version of the Lynx Shunt and this Lynx BMS. My batteries have their own built in BMS and I don't need the 500A BMS in this unit. However I'd still like to remotely cut-off my batteries for when I'm not home and get a fault notification via my VRM app or email.

CAD 1, 310 for a Victron Energy Lynx Smart BMS is just too much for average folks. Can victron make something for personal use cases like campers who runs a much smaller battery banks. I am happy if my bms can handle 100A for a 12V system. Please make a budget version within $300.
