We love canned salmon. Not that store bought greasy salmon stuff they sell in stores. Salmon that we can ourselves. My all time favorite meal is salmon patties. Yes you'll find me eating the cold left overs for breakfast the next day *blush*
A good friend of ours owns a local fish market and while visiting with her the other day she asked about canning whitefish. She had heard it was good but had not tried to can it and as this is her busy season asked if I would try it.

Brings back memories sitting on the beach of lake erie catching white bass. Take them home fillet debone (skin left on) cook them on the grill baste them with milk and butter mixture add lemon pepper and a little seasoned salt. Mmm. Was just a youngin then.

Thanks for the video. Have you done bream/bluegill before? I want to add a little smoked salt and garlic to the can but didn't know if I needed to add a liquid like olive oil or not, I would prefer not to add extra fat? I see your whitefish ended up having liquid over the fish without adding liquid think bream would do the same?

Great video hit all the important stuff. Now for your secret recipe. Venison canned is soooo awesome. Have you done that. Would you do a video on that too. I've enjoyed home canned venison but have not done any myself.
