Any American kid who came of age in the early to mid '70s would have dreamed of walking down the street holding hands with a girl who looked like Annie Haslam. Her look epitomized what "casual glamor" was in that era. That she was such a gifted singer is a double-dose of superlatives.

Renaissance one of the most talented bands ever. Criminally underrated in comparison to Yes and Genesis but no less magical. That classic lineup never recorded a bad album. Annie is phenomenal but others are great also. Jon Camp a bassist of Chris Squire caliber. It's so sad that we'll never see that lineup again cause John Tout and Michael Dunford passed away. What a loss...

During my college years in the early 70s I was in love with Annie❤️ and loved their music too.

Only her voice and a mic. No effects, no autotune. A singer.

Boy I don't know how I missed this fantastic group back in the 70s! I sure am enjoying them now! All topnotch musicians. Annie Haslam is breath taking, spell binding and has a superb voice!

My besties loved this band. I was young! We play it, often, still. I’m 61! It’s a great sound. How music evolves!

What a great voice! I fell in love with Renaissance the first time I heard them. That was a long time ago.

I heard Black Flame on the radio. I WAS HOOKED. And I was so very lucky to see them perform live in that era.
AND I had a neighbor (later a good fried) who could play the bass lines perfectly. Damn did I envy him his stereo until I found out it was him playing the bass parts.

There is no group like Renaissance. Tragically underrated. They created wonderful music. Annie's voice is a standout.

This one really highlights what a great drummer Terence Sullivan was. The others tend to overshadow him because he's not flashy, but it takes his playing for the magic to happen.

Novella was the album that grabbed me. I'd listen to this around 1978 playing Scrabble with my father after my mother had died. His way of sharing time with me. I loved that album then as I love it today.
A fabulous band full of creativity and musicianship. Why they achieved limited success is baffling beyond words

Renaissance were an amazingly talented band. Their music is so subtle and complex. Really really impressive.

John Camp é um baixista do nivel de Chris Squire: melódico, insinuante, as vezes dominante e que alterna a condução do ritmo com linhas próximas a um solo e não apenas à marcação!

This was one of my favorite ever progressive rock bands, and I began following them in the late '70s, towards the end of their heyday. I actually was part of the audience for the Carnegie Hall live double album concert. Annie has a voice like no other, and I loved John Tout's piano virtuosity. As much as I love this live material, I wish I could hear it in its entirety- this is like a teaser, not getting to hear the whole thing, but I'll take it, since there's so little out there. Long live the memories of Mickey Dunford and John Tout, RIP

Saw them in a club and spent the show about 20 feet from Annie. On a number of occasions the hair on my neck stood straight up. No exaggeration. What a voice!!!

Back in the 1970s I liked the first Renaissance LP (with vocalist Jane Relf) but never took time to listen this lineup until recently. What a mistake. Great music. I've added Annie Haslam to my secret list of English dream girls. Jacqui McShee is another.
