This is John Morgan´s beautiful Ford Anglia hillclimb racer, powered by a 240Hp/8.600Rpm Cosworth BDG Engine, weighing only 760Kg and being driven right to the Limit at Retro Rides Gathering, on last year´s edition at Shelsley Wash. Transformed into an Hillclimb car during the 60’s, it is now sporting a Steel arched bodyshell, fitted with a proper tarmac group 4 Escort front end, Monte brakes, Quaife 60g sequential gearbox with flat shift, alongside a whole host o other goodies. But above all it is Mr. Morgan´s driving style that really elevated the whole package and we certainly hope to see more of it in the near future...

I love the Anglia and this one is on point! Perfect color, bubble arches, and the right wheels + sound and stance = heaven!

The original Anglia had a 997cc, 39BHP motor, so this one is twice the capacity but has six times the power! Love it.

I like his rear windows sticker 👍Being a marshal is brilliant, you enable the sport to continue and get the most awesome positions. Sometimes you get asked to marshal at big events . And you may save someone's life one day. . This Anglia is the mutts.

Right on the brink of motoring perfection. No fancy gizmos just a pure driving sensation. Pound for pound this old ford blows any modern supercar out of the ball park. Brilliant.

And to think when I had one back in 1968 it felt like I was driving it with the parking brake always on. Great piece of upgrade mate.

I love the sound of a V8 but growing up on 80's and 90's touring and rally cars, these Cosworths have a special sound I love too. This little Anglia is beautiful, the sound, the body and how agile it is, truly something to behold.

I owned a Ford Anglia in the 80s and to this day one of the best cars I have ever had. It looked stock standard but its secret weapon was a 1600 Ford GT motor under the bonnet. Used to get some crazy looks passing 6 cylinder cars going up the hills were I lived.

Driver so relaxed and clicking gears with such finesse.

I would prefer this car any day over a supercar on a hillclimb. Nuff said!

I want it! Back in the early 70’s I built one with a Lotus Twin Cam engine which I used for road rallying. Surprised a few hot Escorts. Wish I still had it.

I had forgotten how much I used to love driving something that would break traction easily, an art new drivers will not experience.
