Going to be painting Soul of Cinder from Dark Souls 3 soon, so it's super useful to see this kind of "burning charcoal" effect in works.

Awesome man. Would love to see that exact effect but with just clean thin black edge highlights. That orange you had going was phenomenal 🔥

Looks great.

I'm so split up between the two different schools : black or white edge contrast, both look so cool in a very different vibe. White feels more rafined, like the blade was precious and fine but black feels realistic and brutal.

I'm not crazy about the black on the edges myself, but overall I like the look. I dunno really if it would be better or not in another position. Great job overall.

Did something like this with my Rubric Marines. Like metal fresh from a forge.

Just a thought, it might look too StarCraft protossy, but using a shade of blue vs the true black to edge contrast might pop more. Definitely play carefully to not overdo the complimentary effect, but I think a dark shade of cool blue/indigo might be dope. Sick job either way 🤘

I learned painting like this and wow I improved a lot! It is also not so hard painting like this once you get the hang of it.

Imagine if the darktide power weapons looked like this.

Doing green fire for this would look amazing on some Nurgle-worshipping power swords.

Someone let Fletcher from Tabletop Tactics in on this idea. Would look great with their Obsidian Dragons.
