As Mitterand said : "Le centre, cette variété molle de la droite" ( "The center, this flaccid variety of the right" )

I'm happy to see non-french people talking about this. You did your research pretty well ! Thank you

Bayrou's government is wild.
The minister of justice is Darmanin who has ties to the far right, has been outspoken about defending le pen against the justice system pursuing her for divesting funds for her party, and he himself has been accused of crimes including pressuring women for sexual favors in exchange for public housing.

The minister of interior is retailleau who was already in the previous government (which, reminder, got censored) and was already controversial there. He has said he doesn't think "l'état de droit" is something that should be iconized (not sure how to translate it, it's like "the state of law" and it basically is the concept that the state should be bound by it's own laws which is a very important core principle of the republic). Basically the guy is openly for an authoritarian state.

The minister of education has no competence in education and is an unpopular previous macron's prime minister.

The "oversea minister" (basically a minister appointed to parts of the country that aren't in the mainland, old colonies that were integrated in the country, some still with an in between status) is manuel valls who is probably one of the most hated politician in france, is known to be racist, and is a figurehead of hollande's government (was his prime minister) a symbol of the betrayal of the left from the socialist party that caused lasting damage. He is extremely well known for being an opportunist and even left the country trying to get elected in spain for a while instead before coming back when he didn't have as much heat on himself (and failing in spain).

These are straight up insults, they would be insults even if macron's party won the election comfortably, but in the current context, appointing bayrou and having such a messed up government (and I didn't cite everyone, those are just the worst of the bunch, they all could have a story told about them), it's abhorrent and makes us feel so powerless when even winning an election and overthrowing a government isn't enough for the left to get in power. There is also fear of macron using a part of the constitution that let him take "full powers" if the political situation is deemed unstable (by him), basically the 5th republic just lets him become a temporary dictator at will which is wild. The situation is very scary honestly.

As a french i can say you really did your researches, well done and great work.

there are so much attacks of democracy and the constitution by macron, for example 21 ministers came to vote for the president of parliement eventhough it is hugely forbidden, it changed the results of the votes and attacked the separation of powers. but we can't do nothing because the 9 members of constitutional council are selected by
the chief of parliement (a macronist who won because they violated the constitution with the vote of ministers), the president and the chief of senate.
So right now the constitutional council are friends he selected and he often bypass the constitution without fear.

Also (thanks to a law by Sarkozy) he selected friends as Chiefs of Public TV channels, while the main private tv channels are own by far right billionaires.
So, tough for left.

Even here in Germany you can feel the sheer hatred for Macron radiating over the border.

while I agree with this video, I'd just like to correct some thing: even if Napoleon was a counter-evolutionary, he is still considered a national hero to most french people, and even if he was an absolute monarch, his rule was still considered very liberal at the time, and he entrenched a lot of liberties from the revolution such as freedom of religion & public education, even if rejecting other like emancipation of slaves or freedom of speech

As a french historian, I have but one certainty: that I do not know how things will turn out in 2027.
Moreover, as you pointed out in the end, the political trajectory in France is not very much different than from other western democracies.
Far right winning is plausible, but a lot can happen in the political world in 2 years. Not necessarily for the best.

As a Frenchman, well done for implemeting the research and explain in a clear way the political turmoil we're facing in France.

This is just a short vidéo, you’d need whole hours of our president and his entourage just to begin to understand how much they hate the people

23:24 I need to warn you that this is something to be taken, not with a grain of salt, but with the entire ocean's worth of it ;
Polls can be, and in this case, is very evidently *is*, a way to fabricate or change public opinion by framing something in an extremely narrow way while presenting it as a choice ; This does NOT mean that 60% of French people would rather have Napoleon over Macron, and the fact that no other alternatives in the poll is deliberate.
(Or, to say it differently, if I asked you to chose between voting for the face-eating ghoul or the robot nazis, there would be no legitimacy for me to tell everyone that you deliberately chose to vote for the face-eating ghouls)

In this case, the best information we can get is that people are fed up, desperate, and most would go and chose anything besides the current president.

Is the Term "Napoleon Complex" accurate here?

But tbh if i was in a Democracy that is in its 5th Edition because of its instability, i would question it too.

When the president of a country publically states that said country has ''no culture'', especially talking about a country as culturally rich as France, it's crazy... And yet he was elected twice !
