Thank you for this, I just discovered that a seller on Etsy has been sending out Hoyas with root mealies, I’m not sure how much of my collection is effected and I’m considering transferring to leca to be a little safer. With the prospect of having to chop the roots off to control any bugs, this gives me a little hope!!

Good to know. I'm about to ake the plunge to leca. My local Ikea had bags of it. My krinkle 8 was not thrving in soil, I have it rooting in moss right now, so maybe I will try with that one. Thank you, love your content!

This is right on time. I wanted to switch my Hoyas but I didn’t want to wait for the long method.

Thank you for your encouragement! I had tried transferring a bunch of plants to Leca before and a bunch of them died, and then I kinda gave up on it but because I’m gone for two weeks out of four every month all my plants were just not good when I came home so I’m trying it again and I think I’ve just decided that any plant that can’t survive a leca transfer can’t live in my house because the only ones that are nice when I come home after two weeks are the ones that are in leca! Even though I have someone checking on my plants-they just always over water or under water them. So I’ve learned a lot from you and I’m trying again and I got a little growth tent which I think will help a lot for the transfers because they’ll have good humidity. Crossing my fingers!

When I watched the video of you chopping all the roots off, my heart was in my mouth but to see them thriving is amazing!! I grow all my babes in Leca and follow your advice with confidence because I know it is tried and tested.

I get so nervous when i see you chop off those precious roots. You are good at what you do & very confident. I am not there yet, but my LECA confidence has certainly grown in the last 3 months, since watching your show. It is such a trial & error learning experience!!! I thank you for that. I just bought & started my plants on "Foliage Focus" they are thriving....the proof is in the LECA!

Hi Nora, love your hoyas in leca videos. I’ve been growing some of mine in leca for a little while now, I use GT foliage focus but I was wondering if you switch up the nutrients when you want them to bloom? And if so what would you recommend? ps. so good to see another plant loving Aussie 🪴
