About Shauna Cole

I know first-hand that injustice shows up in the workplace in lots of ways. It’s those vague but powerful prejudices that run like currents below the surface of office politics. It's wrong. But so is perpetuating the dishonesty that bias is history. So, I’ve taken my experiences to create a job board and content that focuses on inclusion.

I’m an award-winning University Instructor, MBA, Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) and Senior Certified Human Resources Professional (SHRM-SCP) with over 20 years' professional Human Resources experience.

As seen: CBC, LinkedIn News, The University of New Brunswick, The Canadian HR Reporter, Motherly, Working Mother, Huddle, The Maritime Edit, Fairygodboss, Jobscan and more.

This is exactly what I’ve been thinking about!
Jobs are bs and the whole process of getting a job is also bs.

What irritates me the most is that all these companies don’t even question themselves about how useless resumes and interviews are. It’s so stupid.

Here’s how it should be done unless that job requires super high skills.
Post a job ad→ someone applied →hired

And when that position is filled, take down the ad. It’s simple and productive.

I think a good resume is nice to have, just listing where you’ve been and what you’ve done, nothing fancy but just a list of things. Some jobs require certain skills / certifications and having them all listed on one paper is handy.

Cover letters are bullshit.

HR has ruined everything about work in America. The best workers are the worst at writing resumes because they are doers, not storytellers. They have a skill set that they have mastered, whether professionally or as a hobby that cannot be summed up by fancy words on a page
