For Q.3 Time and work based question: for 4 days of work by A and B together ==>> 45% work of (A+B)=(5+4)*4=36 unit ==>>100% work= 80 unit. Hence, B will take 80/4= 20 days. So simple. No need to make cumbersome equation if such a small solution is possible.

Sir you can raise x^2018*y^2017=1/2 to the power three and then multiply it with the second equation. That will give you x^8070*y^8070=1 or xy=1. Then dividing initial given equation we will get second equation x^2/y^2=1/16. Solving them ans comes out to be 33/4

sir in question 24 also ; we can find y/x = 4 ; so then we can take values as x = 1/2 & y=2 (as the options contain 4 in the denominator which can come from x^2) & we can get the answer as 33/4

for question 8, we can use coponendo divedendo and solve for 4/P, rather than using x variable

I know the solution of q 24. Put x=1/2 and y=2 and you will get answeras 33/4 but you must understand these powers are not going to cancel these are use in negative preference

Basically I committed all the mistakes you did & CAT 18 was a spectacular disaster for me. W.r.t DILR, Since I had prepared Venn diagrams alone for 1 month, I didn't give up solving the satellite venn diagram question for 20 mins & such mistakes are very costly in such competitive exams. Sad...

Qn3:

B completes x% of work in a single day..
=>A completes 1.25x%..
A and B together complete 9x% work in 4 days which is 45% of the total work.. (100-(50+5))(as given in the ques)
=>x=5%
=>B can finish the work in 20 days..

The ans of q.n. 33 which u have given is wrong, , it must be 96, , , maximum value of x is 39, , , means minimum number student who like only burger must be 95, , so ans must be equal or grater than 95, , , i.e 96
