Hi guys!

This was a long time putting together. We didn't include everything this game has but if we did this video would be 6 hours long.

Hope you enjoy the video! - Craig and Heather 🙂

I like the double Review back and forth style. Informative and entertaining.

As a Bethesda Fanboy, I've been playing Skyrim for 15 years, it's my go to when I don't know what to play, when I want some comfort gaming, I've returned to it time and time again. As such I was hyped for this game and it did nothing but disappoint. Was it over hyped and under developed? yes. But Bethesda only have themselves to blame for that. For me the SciFi genre is all about discovery, the alure of the unknown.. and Starfield has non of it. No sentient aliens, no other cultures, no discovery of the new and unknown. You play this game for 40mins and you have experienced 90% of the discovery it has to offer. Layer in the clunky menus, annoying NPC's, lack luster main story, generic weapons, the list of issues goes on and on. It's just mind blowing that the company behind Skyrim & Fallout, brought us this. truly disappointing.

I just downloaded this game 2 days ago and I can definitely see the bugs that are STILL in the game. I remember this game coming out and me being so excited and told myself I’d buy it after reviews come out…. After reading the reviews.. I decided to not get it. 1 year later I am playing it. I am really enjoying it. There is a lot more depth than I anticipated and great short story’s on the side.

I think where Bethesda went wrong was they released very short after Baulders Gate, which was Flawless or near perfect in the gaming worlds eyes. Then around 1 month later Star field game came out. Which definitely changed the standard or expectations for them from the gaming community. That leads into my second point, bugs… game was NOT ready. This game was playable but not ready at all.

The little things matter. Star field skimmed over those in a lot of areas.

I am really enjoying my time playing the game right now.

The game is fine. It's mostly bug free, and more moddable than most others. If you're into this kind of game, you'll enjoy this one.

Starfield is like a China made Mass Effect.

Great review… but I have to disagree with one thing: the Outer Worlds was also very disappointing… even more so than Starfield in some aspects I dare say.

It is more forgivable though given the difference in scope of both projects: maybe an Outer Worlds 2 made with more time & resources will be a more fair comparison, but right now as disappointing as Starfield has been, I still could not recommend the Outer Worlds over it.

I'm a Bethesda fan and usually put 1000's of hours into their game. Not this game however. I've never felt so bored playing a game...

The only step forward in Starfield from F4 is gunplay and movement. Everything else is a downgrade.

The question is If you want to give your hard earned money to the biggest liar in the industry.
No, thanks.

I couldn't have said it any better. You hit the nail right on the head.

I just commented to another video also reviewing the game after one year. I'll just copy my reply here:

"I also admit the game has become slightly better with the updates. The game looks graphically better and runs more smoothly. You also got rid of the endless desert walks towards base and hideouts (which REALLY p*ssed me off).

But there's still something missing.
Starfield needs a 'purpose'.

Raiding planets, building settlements and circulating the main story endlessly does not give me a feeling of something IMPORTANT. A game like Starfield is drowning in the Star Wars universe where you fight evil vs. good. Starfield hasn't got this. I need an important goal/mission that makes me feel I'm doing something important. Saving humanity is always a good idea in this regard.
In Starfield you only do things for your self. Well, I guess some players find this ok if they're spoiled and egoistic in nature. But in general people want to do something for other people.
To me it is boring doing things just for me. Yes. it can be satisfying for a short moment, but not in the big picture.
Starfield simply need this 'save humanity' mission.
I don't claim the idea of parallel worlds is a stupid idea. On the contrary, it's one of the main philosophical science subject of all time. The idea of countless worlds just a split second away and still unreachable is fascinating. But why travel through these parallel worlds just to explore forever? Well, if they were visible different in a lot of ways it would be interesting. But still, if I only explored these to calm my own curiosity I'd probably get tired of it because there is no value in this if you can't use it for some good deed.

Fallout 4 had a good purpose for you as a player. You had to chose between the future of the Commonwealth. Good or evil? Same goes for Skyrim. But Starfield? It doesn't have a meaningful struggle to offer you. None but the endless travels through 'parallel worlds' more or less identical to each other.
If the main idea was to fight the Starborn to prevent them gaining power in these worlds because they were evil and egoistic it would have given me a goal, a mission. But I have a REALLY hard time doing things just because someone thinks I should do them. I simply have to feel my adventure is VERY important, if not critical, towards other people. I need to feel I am the hero of the day."

I feel Starfield is specifically DESIGNET to take as much of your time as possible. The goal for Bethesda is only this. And while playing a boring and scraped game they set up their so called 'Creations' which is supposed to earn them a lot of money for many, many years. They created a money machine.

Vetra Nyx said something very wise in Mass Effect Andromeda when you first enter the Tempest:
"And right now, you need people tearing down obstacles, not putting up more."

PS. I played Skyrim in about 3500 hours and Fallout 4 in 7600 hours.

Afraid to copy Mass Effect map, proceeds to badly copy No Man's Sky galaxy map and uses ESOs area map (NMS only has a galaxy map, no planet maps or they would have copied that too 😂😂😂) seems like this game wanted to be NMS/Skyrim and fell very short. It is a shame really. I think I will be sticking with NMS game has hundreds of hours of content and is still getting live updates.
I may give it a go at some point but likely will stay away from this Bethesda product, Oblivion and Morrowind in Skyrim's engine would be cool projects I would com back for.
