A split-side skirt without the sash!

I'm loving these split side, adjustable waist skirts, and ya'll know I've got to keep experimenting like crazy with all the possible design options! The gathered ruffle and hook and eye closure on this one were particularly interesting to try out... What do you think??

This split side skirt style was inspired by many historical references as well as the Coquelicot Skirt from Wildflower Design. If you're looking for a split side skirt pattern, I highly recommend checking hers out!

You could stitch on an extra set of bars to make the skirt more quickly adjustable. I wonder if this skirt would work with belt fastenings, much in the same way a kilt fastens? Fabulous work!

Oh I would love one of these longer and in the colors red and black

I like the ease of the hook and eye closure of the front panel but seems to me it completely negates the benefits of the adjustable waist from the back section. Also the extra fabric in the belly area will cause a lot of sweating in the summer.

I like one in a solid color teal or yellow so far my fave is the maxi dress

You can make these by using this hook idea on the inside but wrap the skirt where it just ties into a bow. They are super cute and super spin worthy.

I absolutely love the fabric on this one, but I like the style of the other one with the tie better. I wanna see this one with a tie! But it's gorgeous, either way 😇

You could elasticize the frontside waistband pieces as well. Then, the waist would be more comfortable, along the lines on the front lacing. Nice fabric combination on this one.

I like the sash/tie much better, it adds a nice decorative touch and is obviously much more adjustable although with the elastic cord helps with that. Very nice

I'm thinking I'm gonna try that but with a one sided velcro. Like the type that velcros to itself and isn't scratchy so it's still adjustable but doesn't damage fabric or irritate skin, but also faster than lacing.

Not being a fan of bows or other ties, this is much more functional piece for my taste. Also, very pretty! <3
