In this demo I explore what interested me most about Moog Muse: The basic sound (is it good?!), circular FM, modulation possibilities, effects, bi-timbrality, arpeggiator, chord mode, sequencer. No presets used in this entire video!! Chapters below.

Thanks MM for the video! ❤ Anyone who is interested, let me quickly highlight how this synth is unique or interesting IMO:

- the LFOs, apart from the usual shapes, come with complex custom shapes (the "+" symbol above the waveform button)

- in the dual VCOs there is a wavemix feature where you can set the balance of levels between pulse and triangle / saw (/which you can also mix freely!)

- you can program a lot of generative behavior into the sequencer with gate, velocity and note chance / probability for more unpredictability

- there's dual timbre addressing in the sequencer so it can play both timbres at once or only chosen notes for timbre A and B (which makes it more fun!)

- in the mod matrix you can use functions to change the well-known shapes of sine, square LFOs into uniquely new ones, or create custom curves for envelopes / aftertouch response, etc.

- the mixer allows for a clean mix of all analog sources but you can also use the overload slider to overdrive the signal like the classic Moog CP-3 mixer does

- the delay works like vintage digital rack units in that it's highly configurable and can provide stereo delays with ping pong behavior, filtered multi-tap tape echo-style delays, or reverb + dreamy chorused-diffusion trails. Generally it's a sonic playground for time-based effects.

Thank you Moog!!!

I need to stop watching these videos or I'm going to be in debt for the rest of my life. This thing might be worth it tho.

Kudos for acknowledging in the first sentence of the VO that Moog sent this to everyone and their granny.

Truly excellent demo. Really showed the Muse off as an instrument and a sound design powerhouse. Thanks for sharing!

Pure quality. Tickling the muse indeed. The sequencer section was a true treat. Giving me some roedelius vibes. You nailed it again my friend. Smash bang wallop

I need 2 lifetimes to learn half of what this gentleman shared in 30 minutes!

glad moog took a page from the sequential take-5 and started implementing some nice cross mod & wave morphing. looks like my dream synth pretty much

All of my hardware synths (except my modular) are nervously looking at me. Oh, they know... They know that I'm about to start putting them up on Reverb to help fund this bad boy! Thanks for the great video!

A serious competitor for my PolyBrute as a highly modulatable analogue poly synth. *However*, the Moog‘s basic sound is even better thanks to its Voyager oscillators and original ladder filter. A no-brainer! Ordered today.

What a mochine! Glad I ordered in time, because I don't think Moog will be able to keep up wiith demand once the word really gets out. Thanks for the excellent demo!

More I watch this, the more bits of Moog One I see in it, the mod matrix with the functions, the destination and more buttons, the VCOs are almost a dead ringer with the SAW/TRI SQ mixer but is some ways its goes beyond the One. I have a Moog One and the biggest issue i find with it is the FM is very weak being linear only and really rather restricted, the Muse seems to do it much better. The filters are similar but in the One filter 1 is a state variable and non resonant but here both are and filter one can be HP so you can get band pass by combining them.
I must admit that it seem to have more presence in the basic sounds, you have to do a fair bit of fiddling around to get the One to sound more ballsy but it has many more options, VCOs, LFOs, Envelopes, polyphony, tri-timbral. I'm just wondering how long the Trigon 6 module I just bought might stay around before its replaced by a muse to get that ballsy Moog sound with many of the features that the Moog One introduced.

Best sound examples so far ! Won't say who else I saw demo it because some people go more for showing function, but I'm a "how does it sound guy" all the way ! The rest can always be figured out later...Nice !

This such a creative demo. I feel how much joy you are getting out of the instrument. It’s also an amazing lesson in how to get the very most out of a device as powerful as the MUSE 🙏✨🙏

What I would like to see is an engineer opening the thing up and assessing the long term of the components/circuits.

Same with higher-cost Elektron gear....

Life got real tough lately and I can't part with my money as easily as I once did. I want to buy things that will last a long time.

As a long-time fan of classic synthesizers, I've been keeping up with all the new releases over the past two decades. After spending hours watching demonstrations of the Moog Muse, I have to say they've really hit the mark! It's incredibly versatile, with sounds reminiscent of the 70s, the ability to emulate a CS-80, and metallic tones similar to a DX. The level of control it offers, combined with what I believe is the most amazing arpeggiator/sequencer, makes it incredibly creative and inspiring.

95% dont need a new synth, 99% have no need for this particular synth. But 100% of people will want to have it after watching a GAS vid.
