what if you want to filter based on date instead. like if i have my months in the column and i wanted to turn the filter on to show all sales from beginning of time until Oct 2021 and then right to the left All sales from beginning of time until Sep 2021 and so on and so forth.

How is this different from filtering columns from Power Query instead :) ? I usually filter rows, by applying a step to the table in Power Query and apply the changes to the table.
