SpaceX Fixed Starship Problem! Flight 9 in 2 Weeks...
After a streak of two accidents in Flight 7 and Flight 8. What if SpaceX’s Starship faces another catastrophic explosion on its Flight 9?
It would be a massive shock to both the company and Elon Musk.
Worse yet, they could lose the trust of fans, major partners like NASA and the DoD, and if investors pull their funding, SpaceX might end up in a serious crisis.
But don’t worry, they have finally fixed the Starship problem, and Musk has confirmed that it’s ready for the next flight!
So, what exactly did they fix on the spacecraft? And is it truly ready for the next launch?
Let’s dive in and find out on today’s episode of Alpha Tech.
SpaceX Fixed Starship Problem! Flight 9 in 2 Weeks...
In science and technology, nothing achieves perfection on the first attempt, especially in the world of rockets and spacecraft. These vehicles must go through relentless refinement, with thousands of upgrades and improvements, to safeguard astronaut lives and maximize mission success rates on every launch.
For SpaceX, this isn’t just important, it’s a mission-critical priority. That’s why they’re racing to tighten the gap between test flights, and troubleshoot Starship’s issues faster than ever.
SpaceX Fixed Starship Problem! Flight 9 in 2 Weeks...
SpaceX’s urgency shows in its latest FCC filing, requesting launch vehicle communications for Starship Test Flight 9. The application targets operations starting April 7, 2025, with authorization until October 7, 2025. This aligns with Musk’s four-to-six-week turnaround estimate, hinting Flight 9 could launch on schedule.
And in 2025, a lot of people, including me, are hoping to finally see Starship nail a perfect orbital flight.
While I can’t say for sure whether or not the next launch will succeed, the upgrades and changes to Ship 35, based on lessons from past flights, suggest that SpaceX might be able to launch it into orbit and bring it back down safely.
