Nice, didactic and down to earth explanations, like you most usually do, Sheriff Sensei. As a Bujinkan Practitioner, I believe that the future of Budo is in the hands of people like you, that DO STUDY the so-called traditional Kata, but put it in REAL COMBAT PERSPECTIVE. May The God of Israel keep on Blessing you, your soul, family, all your life, and May He keep on sharpening your heart, hands, legs, mind, body and Spirit for the Combat.

I feel like Ippon sugi would work with the rokushakubo.
Maybe it would be even more effective using the naginata with Ippon sugi?

Too great! If I'm not mistaken, it's Bojutsu.

I have had opportunity to study (and teach) these kata with a renowned teacher during the pandemic and it has been mindblowing.

Kata are the fighting form with real timing and distance when taught correctly. However, your teacherline just did not get them before departing. You're going in the right direction. Too bad you are on the rocky road (or beautiful rocky yard) of trying to invent the wheel again without guidance of a teacher.

Shitlist:
- Sabaki kata is about learning to handle your weapon - you show a lack of that skill in this video. Your hand positions are sloppy and you don't use the full length of the weapon.
- Your bô is too short for your height, it makes keeping the distance against the sword awkward. Rokushaku is the name and length, but that is not the right weapon length for average human on 21st century.
- Your strikes are weak, the sword should be able to block many of your hits while moving forward.
- Your distance and timing is suicidal most of the time. The sword is able to cut you often even by accident.

Biggest sin is that you do drills not katas. You don't memorise moves in katas like you do here. Kata teaches you to fight. The braskness of claiming something doesn't work when you don't know what you are doing.

Best luck with your future training.
