Comedy! Jokes! New bits! Subscribe to @ZainSharifComedy! I grew up speaking Hindi with a circle of friends, and it's great because you can talk about people inches away from them. Indian people know this, African people know this, and Vietnamese women who work in nail salons definitely know this.

See, it’s all fun and games until the person you’re trash talking starts trash talking you back in the language that you were using to trash talk them

This actually creates huge issues with friend groups, you think they don't know what your saying but your attitude and demeanor will give it away.

I'm half Indian and fluent in Hindi, but I'm also completely white passing and many times I've broken into hindi when people didn't think I'd understand. They'd stand there like 😮 so be careful with what you're saying 😅

Bunch of south American girls get into an elevator with me and my husband. We both speak Spanish. One of the chicks started talking about shaving her legs in the bath. My husband and I were totally deadpan. The door opens to our floor and as we get out, I turn around with a big grin "buenos noches chicas!!!!" And they just went The doors closed on them falling all over each other cackling madly.

True story, my wife is a North Indian and at a store in South India, the salesman assumed she would not understand Tamil and kept telling the salesgirl, "this woman is never going to buy anything, how many more of these does she want to see". I got tired of hearing the insults and motioned to my wife that we should leave, but my wife patiently picked out a few dresses and told the salesman quietly in fluent Tamil - "I can understand every word of what you are saying..."

Actually, thanks to centuries of colonisation, most of us in India speak like that. English is our second first language. Also, Hindi, like English has evolved immensely to include English words into it's lexicon. Like, I don't think most people know what Hindi words for button or train.
That particular conversation could be verbatim from a Delhi school except for the girl's name, maybe.

My dad is racist and hates when people speak foreign languages in public when I asked him why this is the exact reason, like who cares even if they are its funny

It’s funny until the American turns around looks you dead in the eye and says

“Kya bey chutiye”

Thinking about how my friend and I passed this guy in a hallway telling his friend "chal bhosdike" and he turned red as we burst out laughing cos he didn't expect anyone to understand

I think more and more people speak Hindi and it's kind of terrifying for us regular public shit talkers tbh
