I am a Tamilian and I don't bother which language is oldest.. let it be any but all Indian languages needs to be preserved and respected. It's our own and we should not let them disappear

Sonuji is right. Article 343 should be included in school syllabus. First we should concentrate on improving the condition of sarkari primary schools and healthcare and midday meal scheme, then stupid controversies will die a natural death.

Hats off Sonu Nigam ji for courageously speaking upfront to this unnecessary issue, it's such a shame to know that we are still having issues with each other languages, India is a diversity country does people don't know this.

Sanskrit or Tamil which is oldest? How does that even matter when Indians can instead be proud of the fact that two of oldest languages on Earth are from India.

Brilliantly said Sonu Nigam!

India has 23 languages - making the country the most diverse in the world - and you want to forgo that for one language?

Speak all 23 languages. They are so beautifully rich. And celebrate every language - each language has its own history, meaning, and value that connects people together.

Don't let anyone dictate to you what language you speak!

Speak. Your. Language. ❤️

Language cannot be forced . India never spoke one language in all its history. In fact prural languages should be celebrated.

Respect to Sonu Nigam. I am a Malayali, but I can also speak fluent Hindi and English. The only reason I can speak Hindi is because I spent 2 years of my Childhood in UP. Otherwise it’s a huge challenge to South Indians, especially Tamilians and Malayalis. Kannadigas and Telugu speakers are a little better at Hindi I feel. Folks from North East India are also not comfortable with Hindi.

1) Let people speak the language they want
2) Let people practice the religion they want
3) Let people eat what they want

I am from Hindi speaking region of India and I fully support what Sonu Nigam said, there are already enough divides in our country. And to preserve the multi-linguistic society that we all boast about whenever we go to a foreign country or talk to a foreigner, we must not enforce Hindi or any other language to non-native speakers.

I can say Sonu sir is very courageous when it comes to speaking about facts. Hindi can not be the sole national language, if it has to be then declare every language as the national language be it bengali Tamil Assamese, oodiya etc. Whatever he said is hundred percent admissible.

As an Indian, It's always a pride for me that I am born in such diversely lingual country where language is itself an ideology... Personally I don't want any language to become national language of India. Period.
