Smokey and the Bandit was my dad’s favorite movie and brisket was my dad’s favorite food. He passed 3 years ago at only 51, I’ll be making this in honor of him…plus it looks delicious.

Saw that movie in '78, I live in the north and no such thing exists, saw this, mystery solved, watched it, and thought to myself "A heartburn special". Getting old blows.

That was filmed at the original old hickory house in Georgia, it closed but their other location is still in business in Tucker, Georgia. Some of the best bbq around!!

i live in ga, near several shooting locations for SatB, for prolly the last 10-15yrs, everytime i go into a bbq place i order a diablo sammich and a dr peppah to go. and to this day, not 1 person has ever gotten the reference, including ppl my age that grew up on burt and jackie
