4 Groups Of Animals That Are Only Really Hunted By The Orca

In the natural world no animal is truly safe.
most animals have to fear large predators or battle natural enemies and this is why weak or old animals don't last long.
apex predators are one the few groups of animals that have little to fear but even these creatures battle other predators and members of their own species.
Apart from humans orcas are possibly the most dominant animals on this planet.
They have no natural predators and because they're social animals and live in groups, their young and sick are rarely targeted by other predators.
Orcas prey on pretty much anything they wish to and this means that they are the sole predator of many species around the world.
In today's video we will be taking a look at 4 different groups of animals that are only really targeted by orcas and we will start off with some marine mammals.

It's impressive how Orcas are basically the only creatures on the planet that are capable of handling anything with their natural physical abilities alone. That clip of that orca ramming that great white at full speed looked insane. It was going so fast, with so much mass behind it, that it made the shark look helpless. The power they put into their tail strikes is incredible too. Their intelligence overall is just fascinating.

I still find it absolutely amazing that the orca is one of the ONLY animals that have absolutely no predators. So cool

I think you forgot to mention this but a study was conducted where orca calls were played to white sharks. The sharks were cautious and maybe even fearful of the shark eating orca calls but when the calls of chill fish eaters were played, the sharks calmed down and some actually approached the source of the noise

4:35 I see the Orca and Chimpanzee might make great friends when talking about eating related species

Sperm whales using a trick they sort of copied from their favorite prey to defend themselves from orcas is kind of neat.

During the sperm whale section you forgot to mention that orcas actively avoid bull sperm whales and are even pushed off food sites by them even though bulls are more solitary than the females. It’s kinda like hyenas and lions on the African savanna.

Southern Elephant seals are odd because they are both intelligent and very large and well armed mammals. Full grown adults can be 20ft long which is 66% the size of the largest Killer Whales. If the males would stop fighting each other they could successfully repel killer whale pod attacks imo.

My friend Ed is a retired Sperm Whale. He used to make adult oriented films on the West Coast and told me, "Dude, you wouldn't BALEEN, I mean, BELIEVE the stuff they wanted me to do."
Anyways, he told me that Sperm Whales don't porpoisefully, I mean purposefully, poo on killer whales. He said, "Sure, they don't hurt you human types, But let one try to feast on your liver. You would pop the pool, too, Buck-o!!!"

Leopard seals weird me out, they look like dinosaurs or something, I don't know what it is. Maybe because of how wide they can open their mouths or something, but they freak me out, and then to learn how BIG they are, I'm literally never going to encounter one ever in my life probably, but woof.

Moose is an unusual prey item for an Orca

I wonder if painting the bottoms of the surfboards like an orca would deter attacks? 🤔

Ya'll remember the sharks that where washing ashore in South Africa, with their livers and hearts ripped off? Those were sure some orcas right there
