Interview with Ambassador Jose Manuel Romualdez, Embassy of the Philippines to the USA 9/17/2022

Ambassador Jose Manuel Romualdez is the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Philippines to Washington, D.C., United States of America (USA).

In an interview with RTVM on 17 September 2022, Ambassador Romualdez highlighted the impact of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Working Visit to the US — this being the Chief Executive’s inaugural trip and initial address to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) since assuming the Presidency.

Apart from conveying the Philippines’ vision for the UN and its role in fostering international cooperation to address global issues, Ambassador Romualdez shared that the thrust of the Chief Executive’s visit is to see more economic activity between the Philippines and the United States as his other engagements include dialogues with the American business community in the fields of agriculture, clean and alternative energy, and food production, among others.

“Because he sees the economy as the way to move the country forward, he wants to see more people that will prosper in the country in the future,” Ambassador Romualdez said.
