“No Popery” sounds too much like “no potpourri”.

As a CT resident, I was thrilled to see the UConn football field at 0:32.

I would LOVE to learn more about the John Adam’s and Thomas Jefferson feud during their election cycle.

Would also be interested in learning about Thomas Paine and how he convinced the colonist to rebel against the British!

Not really much talk about it besides changing the number of stars.

There was at least 2 different versions of them that are basically never discussed (that i know of), one of which isn't shown here.

Neat to see so many variants.

Eating some Weird History Candy!
Eating Fourth of July candy*†...while watching this Weird History video!
I have a Tootsie Roll, Mini-Charms, a Dum-Dum, different flavors of Frooties, a pink hard candy, and a piece of Dubble Bubble gum.

* Inspired by the Weird History video "Stories About Your Favorite Halloween Candy"
† I scored it at a local Fourth of July Parade.

“No Popery” got replaced with No Diddy, that’s why we don’t hear it nowadays.

I'm not American, but i seem to recall there was at least another version of the US flag before Hawaii and Alaska joined the Union. Why wasn't it depicted here, given the title of the video?

Am curious how they chose Betsy Ross to stitch the flag. Was she a well-known seamstress? Who designed the flags of our various branches of the military? And who stitched those?

I’ve painted many versions of the flag, but I enjoy the Bennington and the SC “Moultrie” flag (granted a state flag and not a United States flag). This was a great presentation. Learned much.

please change it to Confederate battle flag next! I'm in disagreement with the South regarding THAT particular issue, but their battle flag is just so cool!

I like the flag with the red and white stripes and the stars in a circle. Best looking one.
