In a trailer you could see them both standing next to eachother

I remember when I saw Meowscles die in that last trailer, my theory went as follows:

Meowscles stared up hopelessly as the targeting device shone on his head. Before he knew it, his head shattered, sending blue cubes everywhere. From a nearby hill, having just removed his mechanical saw from the nervous system of a Xenomorph, Kit watched in horror as his dad’s body toppled backwards before shattering into a pile of blue cubes. He was then overcome with absolute fury. With a hiss of rage, the little cat, sped down to where his father’s killer stood, who looked up in surprise unable to react fast enough before the front wheel of Kit’s motorcycle pounded him straight in the face, and as he blasted the throttle, the Predator’s face was brutally and ruthlessly ground away.

A bereaved Kit climbed down looking over what remained of Meowscles’s body. Kit meowed softly as he mourned his dad’s loss. But he wasn’t going to give up. He gathered up what he cleverly pieced together to be the cubes that made up Meowscles’ brain before driving back to his secret lab. He worked tirelessly through the night trying to build a new body, with a mechanical heart, all to bring his old cat back. He crafted a shoddy looking head which resembled that of Meowscles. When work was finally completed, he loaded the brain cubes into a compartment which allowed them to operate the body that had been built for him.

Kit looked up at the shoddy, yet very functional, robust and operational robot. On one shoulder, it said “Kit Bash”, which he painted over to say “Cat Bash”. Kit looked up hopefully and gently licked the cheek of the robot that now housed the soul of his dad, Meowscles. He finally plugged the machine in to charge before cuddling up in his cat bed, waiting for the morning when his daddy cat would return.

It would be a warm, yet very trippy return for the buffed up cat, as he would awaken to experience the world with a very cartoonish and “Rubber-Hose” esque way. An unfortunate effect by his brain cubes being reinserted in a very odd and wonky position. Though it was still a return nonetheless.

Either all of that, or it was just a snapshot of him that died. Who knows?
