Santana's black magic woman is a cover. It was originally a Fleetwood Mac song.

SANTANA "OYE COMO VA", , "NO ONE TO DEPEND ON" & "EVERYTHING'S COMING OUR WAY"...MUST HEAR CLASSICS.

FUN FACT: Singer on this is Gregg Rolie, who once was also the singer in Journey alongside the (now) more widely known Steve Perry. "Feeling that way/Anytime" is greatness.

Black Magic Woman was written by Peter Green of the original Fleetwood Mac and Carlos turned it into a well known hit. But it really needs to be followed up as it is on the album as you heard that distinctive break with Gábor Szabó's Gypsy Queen. It was a brilliant mashup by Santana.

"Samba pa ti" is an instrumental classic from Santana and his peak performance in being "smooth". Nothing better then that.

He won several Grammys for Smooth. By all rights, he should have gotten about 30 over the years. Incredible body of work.

Embarrassed my wife upon meeting (seeing) Santana on the streets of San Francisco. I yelled out his name super loud & in Santana fashion, he looked at me, held up the peace sign and said "Love & Light my brother"

In this episode of Brad & Lex, Brad is first to have movement with a slight signature "side to side sway" as it takes more time for Lex to warm up to the rhytmic tones but it doesn't take long before the drums and rhythm cause her to close her eyes and release a bouncy "trance bop".

If you want a heavy more hard hitting rock sound from Santana then "Jingo" and "Soul Sacrifice" should get you there. Carlos Santana is known for his smooth Latin guitar style with South American and African percussion and heavy bass lines with songs like "Evil Ways", "No One to Depend On", and "Oye Como Va".

Lex: "It's so smooth." That's a perfect segue...check out the song "Smooth" by Santana with Rob Thomas on vox. KILLER tune!!

I heard a good bit of Santana during my childhood in the 70s. The first song I remember hearing by them on the radio was "Oye Como Va". This was the second one. Always great stuff!

I absolutely love I was about 17 yrs old, I went to a concert, and Mr. Santana came out to play for hours, and then follow that with encore (30 min) after I finally went out to the lobby and rested while he finished the

In 1969 I was 15 years old and heard Carlos Santana and his band make their magical music. Saw the movie Woodstock and got their fist album. I have seen him live 4 times. I have his entire music collection. all is magical.

When this came out, all the local bands added it to their playlists for high school dance parties.... Santana's songs made the perfect dance music - so good, so fun.

Written by the great Peter Green, who founded Fleetwood Mac, originally known as Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. I was lucky enough to see him live 3 times, the first time supporting BB King, so that was a really special night.

Santana's Black Magic Women is superb and smooth. For a contrast try the Fleetwood Mac (the "old" Fleetwood Mac who knew how to play blues) version. :-)
