As a Mexican American, (father is from Mexico City) I think it’s awesome when others add their own spin and ideas to our food! We have the same exact products in Sweden. I’ve always called them “Swedish Tacos”, but I guess I should start calling them “Nordic Tacos” 😊

😂 I love how apologetic you are and I make my “Mexican” tortillas the same way here in Tampere, and as someone who has lived several years in Mexico, these actually aren’t that bad considering how far we are from fresh Mexican ingredients! 😋

I have a Mexican friend who lives near Tampere and he's pretty used to the fake Mexican stuff by now, so dont worry, you wont offend him. Although recently, I did bring him some authentic Mexican ingredients over from this Latin American grocery store we have in Scotland, and he literally did a happy dance.

I lived in these tortillas the first month after moving here, they were my shawarma wrap, chapati, pizza base, and kottu roti chops.

This isn't that different from what Mexican food is in large parts of the USA--that is, until you got to the toppings. The toppings reminded me of European pizza. In America, we treat pizza as something sacred, but in most of Europe, pizza seems to be viewed as a convenient way to get rid of leftovers.

When the native food is tasteless and white (salt, and a little bit of pepper, are the only spices), discovering Italian or Mexican food is a pleasant eye opener.

I’m amazingly impressed!! I think it’s really cool you have your style to Mexican food! My family is of Mexican heritage in the USA so we cook ours homemade. I think it’s really fun to try another style of Mexican cuisine and flattered you like our cuisine too 😊
