Today I was watching a male house finch feeding the female before they had babies. A lot of the male birds do that to show the ladies that they will be able to care for them when they're sitting on the eggs. It is so sweet!

My books have the bird called a purple finch..not a house finch. Why purple I don't know since the coloring is red.
